The traditional pedagogy of Carnatic music passed down from generations to generations from the parampara of Saint Tyagaraja’s disciples.

Guru Smt. Lalgudi Rajalakshmiji
belongs to the great Lalgudi family. Steeped in tradition and music, each member of the family becomes one with music right from the womb. A devotee of Goddess Kamakshi, ‘Mami,’ as she is affectionately called by her students, has a home that is a temple of music. When you step into the temple, it makes you leave the noise of the world outside and focus completely on discipline, learning and devotion. Her elaborately decorated mantapa and the love she puts in each flower she offers to the Lord purifies your thoughts just by being able to see this with your eyes.
Ishwarya
has had the immense grace and blessing to learn from Lalgudi Rajalakshmi herself, an embodiment of discipline, kindness and fortitude. With her blessings and encouragement, she will be conducting Carnatic vocal classes at Shree Mahalakshmi Temple on Mondays 4-5pm starting April 20th.
