

YOGA TEACHER

Ishwarya Chaitanya

Ishwarya, originally from Vancouver, BC, received her initial training in Hatha Yoga from her father, Sri Prameya Chaitanya, former secretary to His Holiness Swami Chidananda Maharaj of the Divine Life Society. After completing her BSc. in Environmental Science from the University of British Columbia, she traveled to India to pursue her passion for Bharatanatyam and Yoga.

She studied under the renowned Guru B. Bhanumati and Guru Sheela Chandrasekhar and performed all over India in their troupe, Bharatanjali. She also completed her Masters in Bharatanatyam at Sastra University under the guidance of the legendary Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam.
Ishwarya holds a post-graduate diploma in Yoga Therapy from S-VYASA University and has been a student of Sri H.S. Arun for over a decade. She has also completed her Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series teacher-training at Tattva Yogashala, Rishikesh.

With her combined training as well as interest in philosophy, Ishwarya’s practice is influenced by the teachings of Vedanta and her time spent in Arsha Vidya Gurukulam under the care of Pujya Sri Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
